03  ·  How it is certified

Tested once as a design. Checked again in production.

Respirators are Category III PPE, the highest risk category under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. A notified body is involved both before the product reaches the market and while it is being produced.

  1. Module B

    EU type examination

    CIS INSTITUT tested the MM2-S design against EN 149 and issued EU type examination certificate No. 263453040080.

  2. Declaration

    EU declaration of conformity

    MOONLEX declares that the MM2-S meets Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and marks it with CE followed by the notified body number 2890.

  3. Module C2

    Supervised product checks

    The notified body checks respirators from ongoing production at random intervals to confirm they still match the certified type.

Check any FFP2 certificate in three steps.

Not every respirator sold in Europe is what its box claims. These checks apply to any supplier, including us.

  • The model name on the certificate matches the product and the packaging
  • The number after CE on the packaging matches the notified body that supervises production
  • The notified body is listed for PPE in the European Commission NANDO database. Search for 2890 to check ours
